Chris and Jade are going to be my first wedding this year, so it was exciting meeting them at Statham Lodge for their pre wedding photography. It was a gloriously sunny day as I made my way to Statham, but typically about five minutes after I arrived it clouded over. Needless to say it didn't ruin our engagement shoot! I love being able to meet with couples at the actual venue where they will be getting married. As we had a look around the gardens, we were able to explore all of the options we will have on the day for their photographs. We were also kindly allowed to have a peek inside the rooms...
Some people you meet leave a lasting impression, and Paul and Debbie certainly did that! I knew when I first received their wedding enquiry that it was going to be an interesting one. Their wedding venue of choice is the stunning Portmeirion in Wales. I've been there a couple times before, so I know working there as a wedding photographer is going to be fantastic. The buildings and scenery are spectacular, whatever the weather! If possible, I like to meet the couple at the wedding venue for their pre wedding shoot. This allows me to have a look around, and we can have an idea of the best places...
Last year I found the wonderful website and blog, The Wedding Community. It's a fantastic site for all wedding photographers, brides and grooms, and wedding suppliers. I saw they were running something called 'Picture of the Day' where photographers can submit a few images to the blog, and if picked, a picture will be featured on their site. I decided to submit just one image, and I was over the moon to be featured. I had never taken part in anything like this before, so I didn't expect much when all of the images from the month were put in the 'Picture of the Month' competition. To my shock...
In this modern society, it is the norm to receive your wedding and portrait photographs in digital files. This is incredibly beneficial, and practical. However, there is nothing quite like seeing your pictures in print, in front of you in a beautiful wedding album to treasure. I decided to order an example of one of the albums I offer my clients, so they can see for themselves the beauty of pictures in print.
I opened this package with much excitement, and I certainly was not disappointed with what I found! Inside the beautiful leather cover embossed with 'Karli Harrison Photography', some of my favourite...
The impressive Hillbark Hotel, Wirral is next on my wedding venue locations list. I am going to have the pleasure of capturing Hillbark Hotel wedding photography this year, which I'm really looking forward to! It's a perfect location for weddings. I was there last year working as a second cinematographer, but this time I'm going to be doing what I love the most, photography.
Built in 1891, it's said that the grand Hillbark Hotel is made entirely of wood. It's a lovely location for a spa break, a weekend away, and an ideal building for a fairytale wedding. The grounds a gorgeous, creating the perfect...
I had the privilege of working at a very beautiful Dalston Hall wedding a few months ago. Dalston Hall is a Grade II listed Castle, located in Carlisle, in the Northern Lake District. Situated in acres of private woodland and stunning gardens, it's a perfect place for a wedding.
Starting out as Dalston Hall's Pele Tower, it was built in 1500. In the time that followed, additional extensions and changes were made to the building. But it was in 1897 that a huge refurbishment took place, resulting in a gorgeous mansion.
On Erin and Mark's wedding day, the sun was shining and it made...
The third location I'd like to mention in my wedding venue section of my website is the incredible Kew Gardens. Located in London, Kew Royal Botanic Gardens is such an incredible location to have a wedding. It is a massive lush garden, full of all sorts of stunning trees, bushes and flowers. Kew offers a number of different buildings to get married and have a wedding reception, from conservatories to stunning buildings. I can't go on about it enough, it is a beautiful place to work and a true inspiration for London wedding photographers alike.
For the bridal portraits of the wedding I shot...
The second wedding venue I'd like to mention on this locations section of my website is the stunning Inglewood Manor, which was one of the most beautiful venues I've had the pleasure of working at so far. It's located near Chester, in Cheshire. It's a gorgeous Tudor style manor house was built around 1860, and cost a grand total of £7,500. Set on lush grounds, the beautiful green grass, trees, gates and pond make for a perfect location for wedding photography. I just love venues such as this one, as it makes it so much easier to be creative, as you have a lot of things around you to inspire you.
It...
Magda & Richard | Linthwaite House Hotel Pre Wedding Photography
Yesterday I was once again back at one of the most beautiful wedding venues I have ever been to. Linthwaite House Hotel is situated overlooking the stunning Lake Windermere in Cumbria, and is simply spectacular. Rain or shine, this venue really does have the 'wow' factor! I had the privilege of shooting a wedding there last year, and this year I am going back SIX times, including pre-wedding shoots! The staff are lovely, which makes it an even more pleasant experience to be there.
Magda and Richard will be getting married...
I met this beautiful little girl and her lovely parents recently. We met up in their home in Merseyside for their newborn photography shoot. I just love receiving newborn enquiries, as to be honest, I enjoy cooing over little babies! She was so well behaved and was a dream to photograph. She had the odd little cry here and there, but it was nothing a bit of milk couldn't fix!
It's such a privilege to be able to capture such import times in peoples lives, and I never grow tired of being asked to photograph memories such as these. One of the most exciting stages of parenthood is the newborn stage...
