Wedding Photography Packages
The first thing people usually ask me when they get in touch is what are my prices and packages. Obviously a very important part of booking a wedding photographer!
My main package is a full day package. Most couples prefer to have someone cover photography from bride prep (sometimes groom prep too if he's nearby!) the ceremony, wedding breakfast and the evening reception until just after the First Dance. I do get variations on this package though which is why I'm always happy to tailor a package to suit each couple. Some brides and grooms have requested:...
Is Wedding Photography Hard?
Many people assume that wedding photographers show up on a wedding day, stand around and take photographs and that's their job. Simple! The truth? There is SO much more to it than you might think!
Wedding photographers spend much more time on the admin side of their business than the actual shooting photographs. A few examples:
We correspond with potential and booked clients. Getting in touch and replying by email, texts and phone calls. Sometimes in person client meetings when requested and video calls.
We work on our website - blogging, adding...
Sawrey House Hotel | Wedding Venues Cumbria
Nestled in the heart of the picturesque village of Near Sawrey, Sawrey House Hotel is a charming venue offering the perfect setting for your big day. With its romantic ambiance, breathtaking views, and top-notch service, it's no wonder that Sawrey House Hotel is a sought-after venue for weddings in Cumbria.
I loved working at this venue, with its large windows it offered the perfect amount of natural light and provided stunning views of the English countryside. Also dotted throughout the venue were little touches of Beatrix Potter. Very fitting...
Barry & Emily | Sawrey House Wedding
Meet Barry and Emily! This beautiful couple had an intimate wedding in Beatrix Potter country. Married at the stunning Sawrey House Hotel in Cumbria, the venue is set in the rolling countryside of the Lake District. Surrounded by the colours of Spring, this was the perfect backdrop for their big day.
What the Pluck string quartet offered music from ceremony to the wedding breakfast, giving a lovely atmosphere for the guests to enjoy the soft sunshine and celebrations. Music is very close to Emily's heart as she performs as an opera singer, so her music...
Katy & Andrew | Wedding Photographer Castle Green Hotel
Andrew and Katy were married a few days ago at the beautiful Castle Green Hotel located in Kendal, in the Lake District. It was such a perfect day for them, the sun was shining which provided ideal conditions for all their guests to relax in the warm sunshine outside during the wonderfully chilled day. Katy and Andrew didn't want to have an overly formal wedding, so chose not to have speeches or a cake... which just added to the relaxed feel even more! They were joined with their closest family and friends, and their two gorgeous...
Caroline & Gordon | Wedding Photographer Keswick
Meet Gordon and Caroline! This lovely couple were married a few days ago in Keswick, Cumbria. Their wedding was shared with some close friends and family, and included some personal touches such as the Scottish theme, and their dog Bill (who is a local legend) dressed in a suit jacket complete with button hole!
Despite the Cumbrian rain, the day was relaxed and happy. Caroline and Gordon were up to some pictures in the rain which was very brave but really helped to capture the day - even if the weather wasn't quite cooperating! The scenery...
Emily & Ross | Waterhead Hotel Wedding Photographer
The gorgeous Emily and Ross were married at the Waterhead Hotel on the edge of Lake Coniston, Cumbria. It was such a beautiful day from start to finish, and although the weather was typically Cumbrian we had the perfect two hour window of sunshine for the photos before it started to pour down again along with thunder and lightening. We couldn't have wished for a better outcome with the weather as Emily had set up some lawn games outside for their guests to enjoy, including tandem space hoppers to use for a race! It was clear how much...
Lorna & Dan | Lake District Wedding Photographer
Every so often I get asked to shoot a very small and intimate wedding. Lorna and Dan chose to celebrate their wedding day with a few members of closest family (and dog!) at the gorgeous Linthwaite House Hotel in Cumbria. It was such a pleasure to join this wonderful couple, clearly they are very much in love and the wedding was just what they were after. Intimate, fun, simple, beautiful. They chose their venue perfectly, Linthwaite always gives that special intimate feel overlooking a spectacular view over Lake Windermere. The sun was even...
Jess & Bob | Linthwaite House Wedding Photographer Sneak Peek
One of the kindest couples that I've ever met and Linthwaite House Hotel in Cumbria were a perfect combination for my second wedding of the year! The gorgeous Jess and Bob celebrated their day with family and friends at one of my favourite weddings venues, Linthwaite House overlooking Lake Windermere.
It was a beautifully intimate wedding, the guests were able to relax in the stunning hotel with gorgeous views across the lake as the sun was shining that afternoon.
Jess and Bob, thank you both so much for asking me to join...
Sian & Phil | Wedding Photographer Cumbria Sneak Peek
I had the pleasure of joining the lovely Sian and Phil for their beautiful and intimate wedding at Linthwaite House Hotel last weekend. There is something truly special about photographing smaller weddings, and even though this wasn't tiny in numbers, it was still cosy and they wanted all natural photos which is always a joy to capture! Everyone had a great time, and I can honestly say that the people there were some of the friendliest I've come across as a wedding.
Sian and Phil, thank you both so much for asking me to join you as your...
