Beeston Manor Wedding Photographer Preston
One type of wedding venue always excites me - converted barns! Often steeped with so much history, they offer quirky little details that can make your wedding venue unique. Also usually situated in countryside, they are surrounded by gorgeous fields and landscaping that can provide not only a lovely backdrop for your guests to enjoy, but your wedding photos.
There's something special about using wilder scenery for wedding photos - forests, ponds, beach fronts and vast sweeping fields. Your wedding photos are guaranteed to look beautiful.

Mottram Hall Wedding Photographer Cheshire
Once in a while I work at a venue that's incredibly striking. I absolutely love what I do for a living - travelling around the UK to many different gorgeous venues that I would have otherwise known nothing about and never seen.
Mottram Hall was one of those venues. Nestled amidst the rolling hills of Cheshire, Mottram Hall stands as a beacon of romance and elegance, drawing couples from far and wide to say "I do" amidst its enchanting grounds. But beyond its picturesque beauty lies a rich history that adds depth and character to this coveted wedding...
Lady Margaret Hall Nottinghamshire Wedding Photographer
Nestled in the fields of the Welbeck Estate is a lovely little wedding venue built in the 1950's called Lady Margaret Hall. A simple building on the outside, it's a gorgeous little location for a wedding venue. It's a perfect blank canvas for a country wedding, keeping things simple.
Boasting plenty of windows, the venue is great for natural light - a photographer's dream! Natural light is always more flattering than flash which can be a bit harsh, so looking for a wedding location with plenty of natural light should be a must to ensure...
Pre Wedding Photos
Why have a pre wedding shoot before your wedding day? Many wonder what the point is with their wedding on the horizon.
Many couples book me as their wedding photographer well in advance - months, if not years before the big day. Most couples who book me for a pre wedding shoot also ask me to photograph their wedding so It's always nice to talk through the final details with a couple in person.
Get Comfortable in Front of the Camera
For many couples, having their photo taken can feel awkward and uncomfortable. I totally get it! I feel the same about having...
Wedding Photography Packages
The first thing people usually ask me when they get in touch is what are my prices and packages. Obviously a very important part of booking a wedding photographer!
My main package is a full day package. Most couples prefer to have someone cover photography from bride prep (sometimes groom prep too if he's nearby!) the ceremony, wedding breakfast and the evening reception until just after the First Dance. I do get variations on this package though which is why I'm always happy to tailor a package to suit each couple. Some brides and grooms have requested:...
Is Wedding Photography Hard?
Many people assume that wedding photographers show up on a wedding day, stand around and take photographs and that's their job. Simple! The truth? There is SO much more to it than you might think!
Wedding photographers spend much more time on the admin side of their business than the actual shooting photographs. A few examples:
We correspond with potential and booked clients. Getting in touch and replying by email, texts and phone calls. Sometimes in person client meetings when requested and video calls.
We work on our website - blogging, adding...
The Lodge Photographer Mesnes Park
A memorable wedding venue I've had the pleasure of recently working in was The Lodge at Mesnes Park, Wigan. Nestled amidst the picturesque surroundings of Mesnes Park, this enchanting venue is a hidden gem waiting to host your special day. Offering pops of nature where you wouldn't expect to find it, it's a lovely location for a wedding ceremony. The grounds of Mesnes Park offers a lovely backdrop for your wedding photos, and next to the wedding venue itself are lots of trees which are perfect for shelter from a bit of rain or harsh sunlight while you're having...
Center Parcs Photo Session | Penrith Family Photographer
I'm often asked to pop in to Center Parcs in Penrith (Whinfell Forest) to photograph a family shoot. It's such a pleasure to join families as they enjoy the scenery of the forest on their holiday. Red Squirrels, deer, pheasants and rabbits are often frequent visitors on the shoots, and I love spending half an hour before the shoot capturing the little details for the family to bring back happy memories of their stay in nature. The texture of the bark on the trees, frost on cobwebs suspended between trees, flowers gently swaying in the breeze...
Where Are You Based? Local Wedding Photographer
This is a question I've had a number of times, and the honest answer is anywhere! I know so many wedding photographers prefer to work at local venues, and as amazing as it is to stay close to home I've had the pleasure of photographing weddings across the whole of the UK and abroad. The furthest away South Africa, Italy and Spain... although I had to send a friend to South Africa as I couldn't make it! I'll never get over that one...
Here are just a few weddings from various parts of the UK I've worked in. Each wedding was an adventure!

Jazz & Ste | Gretna Hall Wedding Photographer
Meet the gorgeous Jazz and Ste! This couple were SO much fun to photograph! The day started at Gretna Hall and was incredibly wet (hello, Scottish rain!) with their ceremony taking place in the Historic Coach House. We managed to get some photos in the grounds at Gretna Hall - a few shots in the gardens which are just starting to come to life with the hint of Spring. The natural photos and scenery were most important to this bride and groom, and despite getting rather wet they were up for the challenge. This made my job easier... and that...
