Titanic Hotel Wedding | Liverpool Wedding Photographer
One thing I love the most about working as a wedding photographer is being given the opportunity to visit some incredible venues. One venue that instantly impressed me was the stunning Titanic Hotel in Liverpool. I joined Harshana there for her bride prep photos. It’s one I won’t be forgetting anytime soon.
Nestled on the historic Stanley Dock, the Titanic Hotel is a masterpiece that seamlessly combines the grandeur of the past with modern luxury. Stanley Dock played a significant role in Liverpool’s maritime industry during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Originally built in 1848, the dock served as a bustling hub for transatlantic trade, with ships from all over the world docking here.
In 1911, the construction of the Titanic, the world’s largest and most luxurious ocean liner, begun in Belfast, Ireland. As the completion of the Titanic neared, plans were made to have the ship’s interior fittings and luxurious furnishings transported from Liverpool to Belfast via the Stanley Dock.
Unfortunately, the tragic sinking of the Titanic in 1912 led to a change in plans. The ship never made it to Liverpool, and the dock was left without the prestige of having been associated with the infamous luxury liner.
Decades later, the Stanley Dock underwent a remarkable transformation. In 2014, the iconic warehouse buildings were renovated and turned into the stunning Titanic Hotel. The hotel’s interior design pays homage to the maritime heritage of both Liverpool and the Titanic, with nautical-themed decor and luxurious furnishings.
Even thought the interior is dark, it’s rich in mood lighting. The suite I visited for bride prep was bathed in natural light, the spacious room provided the perfect backdrop. The large windows offered breathtaking views of the dockyard, creating a sense of serenity and tranquillity. As the bride prepared for her special day, every detail seemed to come alive rich in Liverpool’s industrial heritage. The high bricked ceilings, the historical artwork and the stunning reflections on the metal bar area were just perfect to capture the little details.
One of the standout features of the Titanic Hotel is its impressive lighting design. The building boasts an abundance of floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing natural light to flood the space. This not only creates an airy and ethereal atmosphere but also provides photographers with an endless array of opportunities to capture stunning shots. If you’re looking for somewhere to get ready for you wedding day, or just to stay, make sure you consider the stunning Titanic Hotel!
