Wedding Day Emotions | Emotional Wedding Photography
One of the most beautiful parts of working as a Wedding Photographer is witnessing the emotions that come with the day. The secret little smile between a bride and groom - the bridesmaid having the time of her life on the dance floor - the wedding guest shedding a tear during speeches - the Father of the Bride seeing his little girl for the first time dressed as a beautiful bride. Each and every emotion is such a pleasure to capture, a little insight into the deeper feelings of the day.
Some weddings are bursting with emotions, and I'm spoiled...
Lewi & Izzie | The Lodge Mesnes Park
Wow! Where do I start with this one?! Meet the gorgeous Izzie and Lewi. They were married at The Lodge at Mesnes Park, Wigan. Their wedding reception took place at Mawdesley Village Hall, West Lancashire.
The day started out with a Met Office forecast of thunderstorms and incoming torrential rain. Just in time for the formal group photos! I confess, I very rarely worry about the weather as I can work with some rain but this was looking a bit grim. Instead of storms we were given dry skies and beautiful light to work with - allowing us to take the family...
Nicola & Dave | West Tower Wedding Photographer
The gorgeous Nicola and Dave were married a few days ago at West Tower in Ormskirk, Lancashire.
We were at one venue for the entire day. This is always so refreshing! It allows for a relaxed atmosphere and along with the glorious sunshine the mood couldn't have been brighter! Their guests were all very friendly and a pleasure to be around, and it was clear how much they love the couple. Nicola and Dave have waited a long time for this moment. They had to postpone three times due to Covid, which just made the day that much sweeter! There...
Nicola & Dave | Spring Pre Wedding Photography Preston
Meet the gorgeous Nicola and Dave! We met up for their spring pre wedding shoot at Avenham Park in Preston, Lancashire. This couple are clearly in love, making my job so easy! They were lovely and relaxed, and both have a great sense of humour making the shoot fun. They actually booked me before Covid started, and like so many couples, they have had to postpone. This really adds to the anticipation and excitement of their wedding coming up this weekend.
During the shoot we walked around the park picking out little spots of nice light....
Natural Wedding Photography
The biggest compliment I've ever had as a wedding photographer is to be called a ninja! This has been mentioned to me by at least three different couples over the many years I've been shooting weddings. They said I was so discreet when capturing the day, they hardly noticed I was there. This is honestly the biggest compliment! A wedding day is all about the bride and groom, and shouldn't be about the photographer. By allowing a wedding to flow naturally and by being that fly on the wall for a majority of the day, you can capture a wedding day as it happens. These natural...
Mel & Jay | Wedding Photographer Best Western Garstang
Meet the gorgeous Mel and Jay! There's something so incredibly special about being asked to photograph a wedding for a friend, and it's a rare treat for me! Mel and Jay wanted their wedding to reflect them- a few wonderful highlights hinting at their personalities were the pie and chips as the wedding meal, the pizza van and the wedding reception itself at the Best Western in Garstang. It was beautifully decorated with lots of twinkling lights giving it a perfect rustic and classic feel. They had 150 guests for the wedding breakfast...
Bartle Hall Wedding Photographer Preston
The beautiful Bartle Hall in Preston, Lancashire is a wonderful award winning wedding venue perfect for any North West wedding day. Surrounded by the Lancashire countryside, Bartle Hall has its own grounds that guests are able to enjoy and explore. The landscaped gardens and woodland provide a lovely backdrop for the bride and groom photos on the day. Even with a bit of gentle rain the shelter of the trees provides an area for outdoor photographs and a natural feel for any wedding.
A four poster bed, free standing bath, many mirrors and windows are just...
Chris & Emily | Bashall Barn Wedding Photographer Clitheroe
Where can I possibly start with this one? The gorgeous Emily and Chris were married at Bashall Barn in Clitheroe, Lancashire. The venue is a rustic building that is also part of a shop, cafe, working dairy farm and wedding venue that overlooks perfect countryside.
Emily and Chris are a lovely relaxed couple who were such a joy to work with. They were up for heading out into fields for some bride and groom portraits (twice) and also for standing in the middle of the cow barn... much to the amusement of the cows! The photos we were...
Natural Moments | Documentary Wedding Photographer Lancashire
Sometimes the light at a wedding is just right, and a magical moment happens right before your eyes. The photos can end up looking just like a painting, and the result is magic. No Photoshop necessary. One of these favourite moments was a photo of this gorgeous little girl who was grabbing on her Mummy's wedding dress. A beam of light was on her face. I bent down to take the shot, and that angle was just right. It looks magical! I love hearing what others think of this photo. They see a daughter dreaming of one day becoming a bride....
Tom & Dee | Eaves Hall Wedding Photography Clitheroe
The gorgeous Dee and Tom were married at the beautiful Eaves Hall in Clitheroe, Lancashire. I first met Dee and Tom a few weeks before the wedding to discuss some of the final details for their day, and I knew immediately that they were going to be one of those fun couples who were going to be an absolute joy to join for on their big day.
On the day of the wedding the guests started to enter the ceremony room at Eaves Hall and they were all smiling and laughing. That's always a very good sign of what's to come! Dee had put a lot of thought...
