Plockton Wedding Photography Highlands Scotland

My favourite Scottish wedding to date has to be the incredible Plockton Hotel wedding, with Mirena and James. We met up on the shore of Plockton Hotel, and walked across to a tidal island for their little wedding ceremony. It was pouring with rain, but there was something about the umbrellas that made it feel extra intimate.
After the ceremony, the bride and groom ate a snack under a canopy outside the Highland hotel. For their photos we took a scramble up a large hill, walking up the steep rock...
Lauren & Macauley Smiths Hotel Wedding Photography Gretna Green
Introducing the gorgeous Lauren and Macauley! They were married in an intimate ceremony at the Famous Blacksmiths Shop in Gretna Green in Scotland.
Choosing to prepare for the wedding at the popular Smiths Hotel, they got ready with their closest loved ones. It was such a relaxed morning, and once everyone was ready they walked over to the ceremony venue the Blacksmiths Shop. After the lovely ceremony we took some photographs outside with their guests, then made the most of the Scottish scenery for their portraits....

There's something special about Gretna weddings. Full of so much history and tradition, I love popping up to Scotland for so many weddings there. The beauty of the place for me are the hidden pockets of nature scattered around, if you want to avoid the touristy bits (cute and quirky as they may be!) there are fields, flowers and classy looking backdrops to be had.
Lauren and Macauley had a lovely little Gretna wedding, these are a few of my favourite...

Working as a wedding photographer can be a real blur- I'm always on to the next job and have so much editing of photos to do at home where I spend a lot of time on Lightroom and Photoshop. I love taking some time to remember jobs from over the years, I've been on more adventures than I can remember so looking back at photos is always special! It's been a lovely and sometimes crazy ride, I can't wait to see what's ahead.
Here's a little video compilation of some of my favourite...

The Crichton Estate wedding photography Dumfries and Galloway
The stunning Crichton Estate is located in picturesque scenery in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. It’s such a perfect location for weddings, with multiple venues within a stones throw of each other and too many places to pick for photographs with a bride and groom. On this particular wedding day we were simply spoiled for choice for their portraits - I was excited to use the field at the bottom of the estate...

Scottish Islands Wedding Photographer Scotland
Wedding photography is always an adventure! As much as each wedding is incredibly similar in how they work, many stay with me for their unique scenery, moments or qualities.
One place I love travelling to the most is Scotland. I end up there so many times a year, often taking my little family with me to go off and explore while I'm working. My Golden Retriever is always along with them for the ride! I've been to tiny islands, castles, coast line... despite how the weather turns out Scotland is always a beautiful place to go. The rain and cloud...
Where Are You Based? Local Wedding Photographer
This is a question I've had a number of times, and the honest answer is anywhere! I know so many wedding photographers prefer to work at local venues, and as amazing as it is to stay close to home I've had the pleasure of photographing weddings across the whole of the UK and abroad. The furthest away South Africa, Italy and Spain... although I had to send a friend to South Africa as I couldn't make it! I'll never get over that one...
Here are just a few weddings from various parts of the UK I've worked in. Each wedding was an adventure!

Photography Wedding Video | Looking Back
Over the years I've met some lovely couples who have taken me to some pretty incredible places! Each and every wedding has been an adventure, and a pleasure to photograph.
Here's a little video of a few snapshots from various weddings from the past- each and every one as unique as the next. It's such an enjoyable experience to observe everything happening on a wedding day and to capture it. I always aim to be as unobtrusive as possible, while still capturing the most important moments of the day as well as lots of little details and emotions. I believe...
Wedding Day Emotions | Emotional Wedding Photography
One of the most beautiful parts of working as a Wedding Photographer is witnessing the emotions that come with the day. The secret little smile between a bride and groom - the bridesmaid having the time of her life on the dance floor - the wedding guest shedding a tear during speeches - the Father of the Bride seeing his little girl for the first time dressed as a beautiful bride. Each and every emotion is such a pleasure to capture, a little insight into the deeper feelings of the day.
Some weddings are bursting with emotions, and I'm spoiled...
