I spend most of my time working as a wedding photographer, travelling all over the UK. But as many wedding photographers find, weddings seem to go through patches where you have loads together, then nothing for a few weeks or sometimes months. Usually in these quieter periods I get enquiries for Lifestyle family shoots and newborn sessions and I love it! It's such a refreshing change. I am still doing what I love, but mixing it up a bit. I had previously met up with Sandy and Jon twice before their wedding day, so when the big day arrived, it felt like we were friends. This makes it more enjoyable for all involved on the wedding day, as they feel comfortable with me, so are more likely to relax in front of the camera. Comparison is the thief of joy. We read about it on the internet... on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest. It's one of those little motivational sayings you see from time to time. I can't be alone in saying that every so often I come across work by a wedding photographer and I am in awe, but at the same time I am left feeling completely and utterly rubbish. Built in 1891, the stunning Hillbark Hotel  is located in the Wirral and is a truly spectacular wedding venue. I was there a few months ago as a second wedding cinematographer for the day. I am incredibly excited to be going back again soon, but this time working as a wedding photographer which is my passion. Having worked at the Hillbark before, I know what to expect, a fantastic venue located on beautiful parkland, and the staff are a true pleasure to be around. I had the pleasure of working as Claire and Trevor's wedding photographer for the day. It was one filled with special touches that made it truly unique. I just love weddings like theirs! It makes the occasion so personal for the couple, and definitely more memorable for all of the guests. I met up with the lovely Mandy and Jamie  for their pre wedding photography session at a scenic spot in Lancaster. The couple are soon going to have their wedding at the stunning West Tower, which they are obviously excited about! The evening I met up with Mandy and Jamie, it was going dark, so there was very little time to capture their pictures. We went for a walk along a gorgeous river, and through some fields where I ended up laying flat on the ground shooting through the grass, which I love to do as it creatives such an interesting perspective.
