Ibiza Wedding Photography Spain | Cathryn & Tom
Wow, where do I start with this amazing day! Cathryn first approached me about a month ago asking if I can capture her wedding vow renewal in the perfect location on Ibiza. She wanted to surprise her new hubby Tom, as Ibiza holds a special emotional attachment for them as that's where they've often travelled together, and even got engaged. Of course I was more than happy to join in with the adventure, and even though I was booked for the initial date she suggested we worked out a date we could all do.
We started off for their vow renewal...
Kim & Matt | Portmeirion Wedding Photographer Sneak Peek
Portmeirion. One of the most unusual, and beautiful places you will ever come across in Wales. There is an overwhelming choice of places to go, so many things to look at in the quirky and interesting wedding location which makes it even more lovable. Kim and Matt chose to have their wedding there, set in the Italian inspired village surrounded by the stunning Welsh scenery. It was a complete joy to join them both, the mood was relaxed and happy and there was a definite party atmosphere ready to break out for the evening! The day went...
Brand New Logo | Karli Harrison Photography
Sometimes it's time for a change. It is crazy how it can feel a bit scary, steering away from what you've grown used to for what seems like such a long time. But it's with much excitement that I reveal the new logo for Karli Harrison Photography. It was created by a very talented lady in America called Kimmy, who has such a wonderful way of working with clients and making sure they are 100% happy with their new design. I originally contacted her with a completely different idea to this one, but when she sent me the mood boards, I saw this and I instantly...
Steph & Chris | Palm House Wedding Photography Sefton Park
It was a perfect Summer's day, and with the sound of distant Reggae music coming from a concert in Sefton Park, it almost felt like we were abroad for a spectacular day! Steph was certainly one chilled out bride when I joined her and her family while they were getting ready. It was such a relaxed and happy wedding from the very beginning, which was made even more special by the location choice for their reception at the incredibly beautiful Sefton Palm House. Being a giant glass house, the Palm House let in the most beautiful evening...
Emma & Tim Sneak Peek | The Merewood Wedding Photography Cumbria
My first wedding of 2014 has come and gone. I had the pleasure of photographing Emma and Tim's gorgeous wedding day last weekend at the Merewood in Cumbria. It was a day full of much love and laughter, and despite the heavens opening up with rain as soon as we reached Cumbria, our spirits weren't dampened and we all had a lovely time.
Every once in a while I get a shot that stands out, and this one certainly did, which is why I chose it as their sneak peek! It was taken during the first dance, and I think it simply...
Alison and Scott’s wedding was a true pleasure to photograph. Their day was stylish, laid back and very them, and I’m so glad I was able to join them and capture their memories for them as their wedding photographer. We started off the day at Alison's Hair Salon called Meheanos in Blackburn, where Alison and a her bridesmaids were getting their hair and make-up done. I could tell how proud Alison's family are of her as she had built this business and worked so hard, and it had paid off. I certainly enjoyed the different environment to shoot her wedding photography bridal preparations, as there...
West Tower Wedding Photography
Mandy and Jamie’s wedding day took place at the gorgeous venue, West Tower. I was very excited to work as their wedding photographer as I had been to West Tower before and I know it’s a beautiful place to shoot wedding photography, both inside and out. Not only is the building a beautiful place for a wedding to take place, but the staff that work there are lovely too. You can have a beautiful venue, but it's the people that can really help make the day a much happier one. We were definitely well looked after (and well fed!) which made the day more pleasant...
I spend most of my time working as a wedding photographer, travelling all over the UK. But as many wedding photographers find, weddings seem to go through patches where you have loads together, then nothing for a few weeks or sometimes months. Usually in these quieter periods I get enquiries for Lifestyle family shoots and newborn sessions and I love it! It's such a refreshing change. I am still doing what I love, but mixing it up a bit.
My usual style for a lifestyle shoot is to take kids to a park and let them run around, laugh, and play. But obviously with a newborn session, taking the photographs...
I recently met up with Chris and Emma and their gorgeous kids Kai and Nyah for a lifestyle photo shoot. We used Ashton Park in Preston,Lancashire to give us some green background, and to let the kids have some space to play. I'm used to working as a wedding photographer, which I love, but I do enjoying lifestyle portrait sessions almost as much. I was excited about this shoot as I just LOVE letting kids charge around big open spaces such as grassy fields. But adding to the fun they also have a new dalmatian puppy called Lulu. I can honestly say that at times, a family session can be just as stressful...
The Wedding Community very kindly asked me to fill in a 'Getting to Know' feature. As a wedding photographer, I know how important it is for couples to make sure they know a little bit about their photographer before their big day.
Here's a few of the questions they asked me, please follow the link at the bottom to view the full article.
Can you remember how old you were when you took your first pictures?
I can recall the first time I held a SLR, I was 12 years old. I had all these creative ideas of what the pictures would look like, but when I had the film developed, I was gutted...
