Black and White Wedding Photography Cheshire
Black and white photos are simply one of my favourite types of edit. There's something so special about the timeless quality, and there's nothing like a black and white image to really highlight emotion in the photographs! Sometimes the image simply jumps out at you, much more than it did in its original colour form.
Sometimes when I take a photo of a lovely moment full of emotion - the groom smiling at his bride, the mother of the bride crying - guests laughing so hard they nearly fall off their chair - there's something distracting about the photograph....
Group Photos | Wedding Photographer Dumfries and Galloway Scotland
Many people ask me if I take group photos at weddings. This is a very good question, as when you look through my work on both my website and on any social media the types of photos showcased are usually natural. Guests laughing but not looking at the camera - the romantic detail photos -bride and groom portraits.
I am more than happy to take a few group photos at weddings, I do appreciate how incredibly important they can be to a couple and relatives alike. Especially your older relatives! Often weddings are events where...
Debra & Neil | The Coach House Wedding Photographer Gretna Green
Meet the lovely Debra and Neil! I popped up to Gretna Green to join them for their intimate wedding ceremony at the gorgeous Gretna Hall. They chose to have their official ceremony in the Coach House which is very famous and packed with history. They were celebrating with a few close friends and family, afterwards they enjoyed a meal at Smiths Hotel.
The day was very wet, typical of Scotland but that never takes away from the beauty! We did a few group photos inside The Coach House before the bride and groom portraits...
Claire's Family Photography Center Parcs Whinfell Forest
Meet Claire and her beautiful family! They got together for a holiday at the Treehouses in Center Parcs, Whinfell Forest in Penrith.
This family were so much fun to photograph! Not taking themselves too seriously, it was perfect for their photos. They came up with a bunch of relaxed and hilarious poses (to go along with the more serious) which added a great variety to their shoot. It's always a pleasure to be asked to photograph bigger families as they often only get together once in a while.
Claire (and family!) it was so nice...
Matt's Family Photography Penrith Cazenovia Hall
Meet Matt and his gorgeous family! They got together for a holiday at the stunning Cazenovia Hall in Penrith, Cumbria. The reason for getting together was a very special occasion as Matt's parents were celebrating their Ruby wedding anniversary. 40 wonderful years together!
We had a lovely time making the most of the gardens at Cazenovia Hall, as well as using the interior for some more natural shots of the family as they enjoyed some time together. Despite a wet start the weather was glorious by afternoon so we were even able to take some...
Lucy & Liam's Wedding Photography Stanley House Blackburn
Introducing the stunning Lucy, Liam and their adorable son, Ruben! This bride and groom chose to celebrate their wedding day at Stanley House in Blackburn with their friends and family.
Their day was fun packed and relaxed, full of the most important people to them. My favourite moment from bride prep was the first look with the bridesmaids - not a shot every bride wants but always packed full of emotion! The ladies all looked stunning in their soft pink gowns, blending nicely with the classy neutral colour scheme of the day....
Geraldine's Maternity Shoot Preston Photographer
Meet the gorgeous Geraldine and her beautiful little family. I had the pleasure of meeting with them for Geraldine's maternity photo shoot in Avenham Park in Preston, Lancashire.
On the day of the shoot there was a rave going on in the park which was certainly a first. It was entertaining to say the least! We also had some lovely sunshine which made for some gorgeous light.
Avenham park is perfect for photo shoots, I've always enjoying going there for engagement, family and maternity sessions. It's a large park filled with trees, hills,...
I Don't Want My Pictures on Social Media or Online, is That Possible?
A number of times over the years, just once in a while, I get a request to keep a potential client's photos off social media and my blog. How do I, as the photographer, feel about this?
I completely and utterly understand not wanting photos online! Especially when it comes to your children, you may not want to have those photos in plain sight for just anyone to see. Also your privacy is very important, and you may simply wish not to have your photos online.
I always work along with a client - if they prefer to keep...
Lancashire Wedding Photographer Near Me
Often people come across my website by Googling "wedding photographer near me". It's definitely a huge plus if a photographer has been to your wedding venue before, but personally I find myself travelling all across the UK - and I've even photographed weddings in Italy and Spain! So if a photographer hasn't been to your wedding venue before but you love their work, what can you do?
I usually have a trial run of the wedding venue(s) before the big day. You just never know if that little place in the country isn't recognised by Google Maps, or if the timings...
Emma's Whinfell Forest Family Photography
Meet Emma and her gorgeous little family! I had the privilege of joining them last weekend at Whinfell Forest Center Parcs in Cumbria. We had a nice stroll together, making the most of the lush greenery of the trees for their photos. The main wildlife to be seen were the friendly ducks, no doubt hoping for some free handouts! The weather was overcast, but yet bright enough to provide some nice light for Emma's photos. As pretty as sunshine can be, working with diffused overcast light is much more flattering. Less harsh shadows and no squinting subjects!...
