Introducing the gorgeous Debs and Neal! This lovely bride and groom decided to elope in a secret wedding to Scotland. They chose the iconic Smiths Hotel as their venue, in the historical town of Gretna Green. Gretna is world famous for their history of weddings, and for elopements.
Debs and Neal had their ceremony on the balcony of Smiths Hotel - a perfect backdrop with the vast fields of Scotland behind them. It was a cosy and intimate ceremony! After the legal part, a realistic replica of an anvil was used to wish the couple well....
Wedding Photographer The Famous Blacksmiths Shop Gretna Green Photography
One very special location with an incredible amount of history is the Original Marriage Room in Gretna Green. Located in the Famous Blacksmiths shop, it's a location where couples used to (and still) elope to get married in a shotgun wedding.
Gretna is full of quirky charm - but it's a quick step out into the fields of Dumfries and Galloway. Nature is always my preferred backdrop for any photoshoot or wedding, you can't beat a bit of natural beauty! Couples often find me on Google as they see I've photographed weddings...

Debra & Neil | The Coach House Wedding Photographer Gretna Green
Meet the lovely Debra and Neil! I popped up to Gretna Green to join them for their intimate wedding ceremony at the gorgeous Gretna Hall. They chose to have their official ceremony in the Coach House which is very famous and packed with history. They were celebrating with a few close friends and family, afterwards they enjoyed a meal at Smiths Hotel.
The day was very wet, typical of Scotland but that never takes away from the beauty! We did a few group photos inside The Coach House before the bride and groom portraits...

Wedding Photography Packages
The first thing people usually ask me when they get in touch is what are my prices and packages. Obviously a very important part of booking a wedding photographer!
My main package is a full day package. Most couples prefer to have someone cover photography from bride prep (sometimes groom prep too if he's nearby!) the ceremony, wedding breakfast and the evening reception until just after the First Dance. I do get variations on this package though which is why I'm always happy to tailor a package to suit each couple. Some brides and grooms have requested:...
Is Wedding Photography Hard?
Many people assume that wedding photographers show up on a wedding day, stand around and take photographs and that's their job. Simple! The truth? There is SO much more to it than you might think!
Wedding photographers spend much more time on the admin side of their business than the actual shooting photographs. A few examples:
We correspond with potential and booked clients. Getting in touch and replying by email, texts and phone calls. Sometimes in person client meetings when requested and video calls.
We work on our website - blogging, adding...
Jazz & Ste | Gretna Hall Wedding Photographer
Meet the gorgeous Jazz and Ste! This couple were SO much fun to photograph! The day started at Gretna Hall and was incredibly wet (hello, Scottish rain!) with their ceremony taking place in the Historic Coach House. We managed to get some photos in the grounds at Gretna Hall - a few shots in the gardens which are just starting to come to life with the hint of Spring. The natural photos and scenery were most important to this bride and groom, and despite getting rather wet they were up for the challenge. This made my job easier... and that...
Chris & Ru | Dalston Hall Wedding Photographer
Meet Chris and Ru! This beautiful couple were married in Gretna Green registry office and had their reception at the rather stunning Dalston Hall in Carlisle.
Despite a rather wet day, they had planned such a chilled and relaxed wedding that it didn't add any stress. Thankfully we were able to get some bride and groom portraits outside in the grounds of Dalston Hall without getting soaked. The guests were up to the challenge with umbrellas at the ready for the group photos! It was nice to be able to get some natural light and pretty background...
Scotland- Mill Forge Photographer | Karina & Lewis
Meet the stunning Karina and Lewis! They were married a few days ago at Gretna Green, Scotland. Like many couples since Covid started they had to postpone their wedding day twice. Having to postpone just makes a wedding that much sweeter once the couple are able to go ahead!
Karina had clearly put a lot of love and thought into all of the little details that I enjoy capturing so much. From personalised silhouette cake topper (including their two cute pugs!) to a leather jacket hand painted by a friend.
The wedding ceremony was outdoors...
