Sarah & Phil | Pre Wedding Photography Cumbria
I met up with the lovely Sarah and Phil for their pre wedding shoot in Cumbria. Usually when I'm super busy, engagement shoots are done in a park not too far from me as it saves me having to travel too far. But this was one trip well worth the travel! It was gorgeous and sunny when I set off from home, but as I got closer and closer to Cumbria it got darker and darker. And wetter. But despite this, when I met up with Sarah & Phil at The Wordsworth Hotel where they will be getting married soon, their spirits weren't dampened. We set off on a mini...
Carole & Barry | Wordsworth Hotel Wedding Photography Cumbria
Weddings come in all different shapes and sizes. But I can honestly say that Carole & Barry's intimate wedding of a party of 5 (including me!) was the smallest wedding that I've had the pleasure to shoot before. Sadly the Lake District treated us to its usual weather, so we were unable to go outside. But that certainly didn't dampen the spirits of Barry and Carole's special day at the lovely Wordsworth Hotel.
I was only with them for a few hours to capture their special celebration, but I think the photographs show the emotion...
Vicky & John | Wedding Photography Cumbria
I first met the beautiful Vicky when she was getting out of her wedding car, about to get married. This was certainly a first for me, but Vicky and John had asked me to join up with them for just a few hours to capture the essence of their special day. They have been together for 22 years, but yet it was still obvious how much they mean to each other.
It was a very enjoyable wedding and it was easy to feel a part of the relaxed and happy atmosphere, it was easy to pick up the feel even though I was only there a few hours. The love that Vicky...
Magda & Richard | Linthwaite House Hotel Wedding Photography Cumbria
I met up with Richard and Magda the night before their wedding day, as they were having a BBQ at Linthwaite House Hotel with all their wedding guests before tying the knot the next day. I loved meeting all of the guests before the big day, and I can honestly say that at the wedding I felt at home. I've never had so many people talk to me before, it was lovely!
I always find wedding write ups difficult as there is so much to say each day, and I can't possibly think of words to describe the day as well as I can capture...
Phillipa & Graham | Cumbria Wedding Photography Loweswater
Graham and Philippa's day was one filled with so much fun, love and laughter. Never before have I been to a day dedicated to having so much fun. It's difficult to know where to start with this one, as it was jam packed with so many interesting details. Just a few highlights:
An outdoors ceremony next to Loweswater, Lake District
A walk through woods with wellies on route to the wedding reception
Many, many games for all the guests such as Pooh sticks, skimming stones, a swing by the lake, giant garden Jenga... the list goes...
Wedding Photography Lancashire & Cumbria
I was back at one of my absolute favourite wedding venues this weekend, the very stunning Linthwaite House Hotel in Cumbria. Overlooking Lake Windermere, it's an amazing location on a normal day, but to be there in the sunshine... it's paradise! I was at Linthwaite a few weeks ago for Richard and Magda's Pre Wedding Shoot, where the trees were still lacking leaves and the flowers were not yet in bloom. We were blessed on Saturday, as the leaves and flowers have now come out giving the gardens and scenery extra beauty.
Magda is Polish, as her parents...
Holly & Simon | Cumbria Wedding Photography Linthwaite House Hotel
I had the pleasure of meeting up with the lovely Holly and Simon a few weeks ago for their gorgeous intimate evening wedding at the stunning Linthwaite House Hotel. I was only with them for a few hours, but the atmosphere was obviously one of relaxed happiness. Holly's Mum had lovingly sewed gorgeous cloth hearts to decorate the stunning Hotel, and the theme of board games for their reception certainly went down a treat. Each table had little suit cases with mini games in each, so the guests could entertain themselves between...
I had the privilege of joining the lovely Jenna Carpenter Photography in capturing the Cumbria wedding photography of Catriona and Tristan. She had asked me to help photograph their day, and I was more than happy to accept! I have worked with Jenna a couple of times before, and we always have a wonderful time. The morning was a very relaxed one, starting off with a delicious looking breakfast of salmon and bagels in the family home. The house is simply gorgeous, set in the beautiful Lake District. The family are very musical and run a company from their own home. Music was very much a strong theme...
Last year I found the wonderful website and blog, The Wedding Community. It's a fantastic site for all wedding photographers, brides and grooms, and wedding suppliers. I saw they were running something called 'Picture of the Day' where photographers can submit a few images to the blog, and if picked, a picture will be featured on their site. I decided to submit just one image, and I was over the moon to be featured. I had never taken part in anything like this before, so I didn't expect much when all of the images from the month were put in the 'Picture of the Month' competition. To my shock...
I had the privilege of working at a very beautiful Dalston Hall wedding a few months ago. Dalston Hall is a Grade II listed Castle, located in Carlisle, in the Northern Lake District. Situated in acres of private woodland and stunning gardens, it's a perfect place for a wedding.
Starting out as Dalston Hall's Pele Tower, it was built in 1500. In the time that followed, additional extensions and changes were made to the building. But it was in 1897 that a huge refurbishment took place, resulting in a gorgeous mansion.
On Erin and Mark's wedding day, the sun was shining and it made...
