Natural Wedding Photography
The biggest compliment I've ever had as a wedding photographer is to be called a ninja! This has been mentioned to me by at least three different couples over the many years I've been shooting weddings. They said I was so discreet when capturing the day, they hardly noticed I was there. This is honestly the biggest compliment! A wedding day is all about the bride and groom, and shouldn't be about the photographer. By allowing a wedding to flow naturally and by being that fly on the wall for a majority of the day, you can capture a wedding day as it happens. These natural...
Sam & Ste | Storrs Hall Wedding Photographer
The lovely Sam and Ste were married a few days ago at the stunning wedding venue Storrs Hall in Cumbria. The building is set on Lake Windermere which was a perfect backdrop for their special day. With views of the water on two sides, it was incredibly picturesque. Sam and Ste chose to have their closest friends and family join them, which really gave the day a warm and intimate feel without a large number of guests. The atmosphere was so relaxed, and it was clear how much everyone was enjoying themselves by all of the laughter.
Ste and Sam,...
Michelle & Dom | Wedding Photographer Holbeck Ghyll
Meet Michelle and Dom! I had the privilege of working with this gorgeous couple two times before their wedding day- for a family shoot in the Lakes last Winter and their pre wedding shoot.
It was such a beautiful day for their wedding, despite a horrible weather forecast for Cumbria we had some sunshine for their photographs at the wedding venue Holbeck Ghyll . The day was full of so many happy and friendly people, the guests were so much fun! Everyone was clearly very relaxed and fully enjoying themselves. It was the perfect...
Lindsay & Ian | Skitby Wedding Photographer Carlisle
It was such a gorgeous and sunny day when I first joined Lindsay for her bride prep at the well known Smith's Hotel in Gretna Green. She was getting ready in the Thistle Suite which had a beautiful balcony overlooking Gretna. Ian and Lindsay were married in Lockerbie, and went on to have their wedding reception at the gorgeous Skitby in Carlisle. The room had a pretty and rustic look with open beams, bunting and a cute travel theme that Lindsay had clearly put a lot of thought into - and lots of amazing cakes! For their wedding breakfast...
Katy & Andrew | Wedding Photographer Castle Green Hotel
Andrew and Katy were married a few days ago at the beautiful Castle Green Hotel located in Kendal, in the Lake District. It was such a perfect day for them, the sun was shining which provided ideal conditions for all their guests to relax in the warm sunshine outside during the wonderfully chilled day. Katy and Andrew didn't want to have an overly formal wedding, so chose not to have speeches or a cake... which just added to the relaxed feel even more! They were joined with their closest family and friends, and their two gorgeous...
Katie & Paul | Wedding Photographer Windermere
Meet the gorgeous Katie and Paul. This wonderful couple were married a few days ago at Linthwaite House Hotel in Cumbria. The weather forecast for the day was rain, and we were all rather surprised by the stunning sunshine we had all day long. The wedding speeches were outside in the sunshine on the patio overlooking Lake Windermere. It couldn't have been a more perfect setting and a wonderful ending to a beautiful day. Katie and Paul are a fun loving couple who are clearly not just in love but also best friends.
Paul and Katie, thank you...
Sarah & Matt | Wedding Photographer Broadoaks Cumbria
Meet Matt and Sarah. This gorgeous couple were married a few days ago at the beautiful wedding venue Broadoaks Country House Hotel in Cumbria. It was such an interesting day, unusually there was a thunder storm nearby which brought torrential rain. Thankfully it eventually cleared in the evening to make way for sunshine. This type of weather may be upsetting at first on a wedding day, but there is usually some sun at the end! Matt and Sarah were able to go outside and enjoy the grounds of the venue for both photographs and time together...
Amanda & Tim | Wedding Photographer Cumbria
Meet Amanda and Tim! This lovely couple were married a few days ago at Linthwaite House Hotel, Cumbria. Every so often I get a booking for a small wedding, and Amanda and Tim decided they only wanted Amanda's Mum to join in on their day. The date was very important to them all, and had great significance and meaning. These weddings always feel so incredibly special to capture. It's great working with brides and grooms who know exactly what they'd like for their wedding day. Celebrating with a few loved ones is just as important as a bigger...
Emily & Andrew | Wedding Photography Low Wood Bay Hotel
The stunning Emily and Andrew were married last weekend at the gorgeous Low Wood Bay Hotel in Cumbria. The day was truly special and it was absolutely jam packed with lovely people and far too many amazing moments to make it easy to pick out just one or two photographs as a sneak peek! Although the weather was a very wet and dark, it certainly didn't dampen anyone's spirits and the venue itself was perfect with large windows and neutral backgrounds. One thing that is so adorable about Andrew and Emily is how in love they are!...
2015 - Beautiful Brides, A Bump & My New Baby Boy!
Wow, what a year! Some of you may have noticed that I've been a bit quiet lately on the blogging front. All my couples this year have known that my Husband and I were expecting our second child this whole wedding season. After an amazing year full of so many lovely couples, I am pleased to announce that our son arrived (in a hurry!) this September. He is doing very well. He's such a sweet and handsome chilled out little chap. Much like his Daddy!
This year has been such a joy, and to meet so many kind and wonderful people is, as always,...
