Michelle & Rob | Criccieth Wedding Photography  Wales

I think whatever I say is simply not going to be enough to describe Michelle & Rob’s amazing wedding day! I first got an email from Rob a month ago, his wedding photographer had cancelled last minute and they were desperate to find someone. Surprisingly I was free (unusual this time of year!) and I jumped at the chance to join them both in the stunning town of Criccieth in Wales. I had recently worked at the beautiful Portmeirion which is very close to Criccieth, so was over the moon to get invited back to Wales so soon after my last visit.

Rob and Michelle are a fun, chilled out couple who wanted their personalities reflected in their amazing day. They invited friends and family to stay in the beautiful Mynydd Ednyfed hotel days before they tied the knot, so once the wedding day arrived everyone was relaxed and happy. The staff at the hotel were fantastic, I was often offered drinks and food which is always much appreciated. Another aspect about their wedding that was amazing was that they weren’t interested in formal group shots, they didn’t want any fake pictures of them signing the register, and they decided not to have a formal first dance. All these things freed me up to capture what they really cared about, beautiful natural moments and atmosphere.

As soon as I arrived Michelle gave me a huge hug, which was so nice as we’d never met in person. I knew from that moment that it was going to be a wonderful day. Despite a scorcher of a day, everyone made the most of the lovely weather. And the portraits on the beach were something quite special, as we went down to capture a bit of golden hour magic.

Rob and Michelle, huge congrats to you both again! I’d like to say a little thank you for being so incredibly lovely, and especially for inviting my little family to the evening reception, I hope L’s dancing kept you entertained! And the hotel we stayed in was perfect, with lovely food and very comfortable.
