One of the joys of this job is being able to take part in the most memorable times in peoples lives. I’ve had the privilege of capturing engagements, weddings, newborn, children and family portraits, but maternity photography was a first for me. I was really excited when I was asked to do this shoot, as I know what an exciting and incredibly special time of life pregnancy is.
For the maternity shoot we travelled to the beach at St Annes, Lancashire. The weather was absolutely glorious. We were able to take a stroll on the beach itself, and also have a few photographs taken in a field next to the shore. One rather special moment was when a butterfly came to rest on the bump, where it stayed for a few seconds and was gone again! I’m relieved it stayed in place just long enough for me to take a quick photo before it was gone again. It was a rather magical moment!
I would like to thank Krista and Ant for asking me to be their maternity photographer, and I hope that baby number two arrives safely and on time! Here are just a few photographs from our shoot.
