Built in 1891, the stunning Hillbark Hotel is located in the Wirral and is a truly spectacular wedding venue. I was there a few months ago as a second wedding cinematographer for the day. I am incredibly excited to be going back again soon, but this time working as a wedding photographer which is my passion. Having worked at the Hillbark before, I know what to expect, a fantastic venue located on beautiful parkland, and the staff are a true pleasure to be around.
The wedding was a beautiful one, and the weather was just about on our side until it started to rain and then thunder. Thankfully there was also spells of sunshine, and dry skies, so we managed to capture some stunning footage outside in the gorgeous grounds. The inside of Hillbark is also a beautiful location for couples wedding portraits, and with a bit of help from lights we were able to take full advantage of the lovely interior as well as the grounds. The venue itself looks like something you’d find in a fairytale, making it such a stunning venue to work at.
Here is my favourite moment captured on film, when the bride is walking across a landing arm in arm with her father, on their way down to the ceremony room. The string quartet were playing, and some of the wedding guests could get a quick glimpse of the bride walking past. Even though this image isn’t as top quality as a high resolution photograph (as it was taken from my filming footage) I just love the emotion captured. The light was hitting Jen so beautifully from the side, framing her. Such a special moment, and a true pleasure to capture for them.
I’m counting down the days until I’m back at Hillback as a wedding photographer, I’ll be sure to update my blog with those photographs soon.
