Debs & Neal | Smiths Hotel Wedding Photographer Gretna

Introducing the gorgeous Debs and Neal! This lovely bride and groom decided to elope in a secret wedding to Scotland. They chose the iconic Smiths Hotel as their venue, in the historical town of Gretna Green. Gretna is world famous for their history of weddings, and for elopements.

Debs and Neal had their ceremony on the balcony of Smiths Hotel – a perfect backdrop with the vast fields of Scotland behind them. It was a cosy and intimate ceremony! After the legal part, a realistic replica of an anvil was used to wish the couple well. A classic Gretna tradition!

As a very special surprise for his bride, Neal arranged for Debs’ sister to come to the venue with the couple’s gorgeous dog. Phoebe the Hound was super excited to see them after a night away, and she was more than happy to be included in the bride and groom portraits! We walked across to the fields behind the main centre of Gretna, to allow more nature and variety for their photographs. Phoebe was such a little character and an absolute sweetheart.
