I met up with Mark and Erin on their stunning wedding day at the gorgeous Dalston Hall in Cumbria. I was working as a second videographer , capturing their wedding on my DSLR camera, the one that I also use for wedding photography. I love how creative you can be with a professional DSLR, you can change lenses which means you can change focus, depth of field and light conditions. This allows you to capture beautiful and creative cinematography. I’m a huge fan of using a shallow depth of field, which means you can focus on something such as the bride’s eyes, and everything else will be out of focus. With a normal videocamera, it usually tries to get everything in, which limits your creativity.
The wedding took place at the stunning Dalston Hall in Carlisle, Cumbria. From the outside it looks like a castle, perhaps something from a fairytale wedding. The inside is very beautiful, and the grounds surrounding the building are gorgeous. It’s a perfect location for a wedding, and we all thoroughly enjoyed the day with the lovely Erin and Mark. Thankfully the weather was also in our favour, and we were able to take full advantage of the grounds at the Hall. This is always a bonus!
I hope that I’ll have the privilege of working at Dalston Hall again in future, but this time as a wedding photographer which is what I love doing most. Here are a couple of moments I captured from their stunning wedding at Dalston Hall.
