The Lodge Photographer Mesnes Park
A memorable wedding venue I've had the pleasure of recently working in was The Lodge at Mesnes Park, Wigan. Nestled amidst the picturesque surroundings of Mesnes Park, this enchanting venue is a hidden gem waiting to host your special day. Offering pops of nature where you wouldn't expect to find it, it's a lovely location for a wedding ceremony. The grounds of Mesnes Park offers a lovely backdrop for your wedding photos, and next to the wedding venue itself are lots of trees which are perfect for shelter from a bit of rain or harsh sunlight while you're having...
Center Parcs Photo Session | Penrith Family Photographer
I'm often asked to pop in to Center Parcs in Penrith (Whinfell Forest) to photograph a family shoot. It's such a pleasure to join families as they enjoy the scenery of the forest on their holiday. Red Squirrels, deer, pheasants and rabbits are often frequent visitors on the shoots, and I love spending half an hour before the shoot capturing the little details for the family to bring back happy memories of their stay in nature. The texture of the bark on the trees, frost on cobwebs suspended between trees, flowers gently swaying in the breeze...
Where Are You Based? Local Wedding Photographer
This is a question I've had a number of times, and the honest answer is anywhere! I know so many wedding photographers prefer to work at local venues, and as amazing as it is to stay close to home I've had the pleasure of photographing weddings across the whole of the UK and abroad. The furthest away South Africa, Italy and Spain... although I had to send a friend to South Africa as I couldn't make it! I'll never get over that one...
Here are just a few weddings from various parts of the UK I've worked in. Each wedding was an adventure!

Jazz & Ste | Gretna Hall Wedding Photographer
Meet the gorgeous Jazz and Ste! This couple were SO much fun to photograph! The day started at Gretna Hall and was incredibly wet (hello, Scottish rain!) with their ceremony taking place in the Historic Coach House. We managed to get some photos in the grounds at Gretna Hall - a few shots in the gardens which are just starting to come to life with the hint of Spring. The natural photos and scenery were most important to this bride and groom, and despite getting rather wet they were up for the challenge. This made my job easier... and that...
Hipping Hall Wedding Photographer Carnforth
Nestled amidst the picturesque countryside of Carnforth lies a hidden gem that exudes elegance and luxury - Hipping Hall. This historic manor turned boutique hotel offers a unique blend of old-world charm and modern sophistication, making it a sought-after destination for visitors and weddings alike.
A Storied Past
Originally built in the 15th century, Hipping Hall has a rich history. The manor has undergone various transformations over the centuries, each contributing to its unique character and architectural style. From its humble beginnings...
What do Professional Photographers Use to Edit Photos?
One question I've had from clients is how do I edit photos? I like to keep my style natural and clean, timeless. Although some extreme editing trends can seem cool, I always think how will they age? One thing that's certain is that clear colours and classic black and whites seem to be timeless, and it's my go to style!
I envy the photographs with the skills (and patience!) that turn editing into an art form, but for my photos I use Lightroom from Adobe and once in a while Photoshop too to gently edit and tweak the images to bring out the best...
Portmeirion Wedding Photographer Wales
Nestled along the stunning coastline of North Wales, lies the enchanting village of Portmeirion. Known for its picturesque scenery, colorful buildings, and Mediterranean-inspired architecture, Portmeirion serves as the perfect backdrop for a fairytale wedding. I've had the pleasure of working here a number of times, and it's quite honestly such a fun place to work as a photographer!
Nestled in between quaint buildings are plenty of opportunities for photos with gorgeous architecture, gardens and the expanse of the sea view. No matter the weather...
Wedding Photography Styles
Styles of photography can vary from photographer to photographer. Everyone has their own way of shooting, but there are two very important styles of wedding photography. Traditional vs documentary. Back before camera phones and digital cameras, posing for photos was the go-to. Every photo carefully thought out and staged, the photographer could be certain they got the shot they needed. Today documentary style photography is much more common.
True documentary style wedding photographers don't provide any posed photos, and they give a fly on the wall point of view....
Anglesey Wedding Photography Wales
With its stunning natural beauty and rugged coastline, Anglesey provides the perfect setting for you wedding photos.
Honestly I can't tell you how much a wedding like this makes my heart sing! Set with the seaside as a backdrop, Anglesey is such a stunning location in Wales to hold a wedding.
Anglesey offers a unique opportunity to create timeless and breathtaking images that you will cherish for a lifetime. This wedding ceremony took place at The Church in the Sea, where guests took off their shoes before going inside and I was asked to wait outside...
Center Parcs Whinfell Forest Photography
I do love a photo shoot. The lack of pressure compared to a wedding is refreshing, and being asked to pop in to join a family at Center Parcs is no exception! This picturesque retreat nestled in the heart of nature provides the perfect backdrop for a memorable family photo shoot. Asking for some professional photos not only gives you a chance to have some memories captured with your loved ones, but also some professional photos taken of the nature around you. I love arriving at Whinfell a little earlier than the shoot. This gives me time to find the location...
